Dr Hutton’s laboratory deals with : 1) the testing of instrumentation and prosthetics for implant; 2) basic research on the biomechanics of human joints; 3) stabilization of the spine; 4) scoliosis. Current projects include perfecting surgical procedures for fractures in the hand, in the spine, in the knee, and in the ankle. The laboratory has given special attention to the study of the intervertebral disc and methods of retarding disc degeneration and disc failure.
