  • Description

PGY 2 and 3 residents work closely with staff to gain familiarity with common pediatric orthopaedic pathology including fractures, limb length discrepancy, spinal deformity, neuromuscular disorders, and hip disorders. As a level one trauma center and tertiary care referral hospital, Egelston provides an unparalled volume and variety of cases. Residents become comfortable with the management of both emergent pediatric conditions, and complex perioperative patients. Patients are seen in clinic at Emory Orthopaedics & Spine Center where residents learn indications for surgical treatment as well as techniques for nonoperative management, including casting and bracing. Staff-lead conferences held Monday through Thursday include complex case presentations and didactic lectures.
