Dr. Thomas Whitesides has been awarded the Arnall Patz Lifetime Achievement Award. This award honors distinguished alumni from Emory School of Medicine who displayed extraordinary leadership and accomplishment in the field of medicine at the national or international level.

Dr. Farzad Nahai, President of the Medical Alumni Association, wrote in a letter to Dr. Whitesides: “The committee was impressed by your extensive service to Emory – as a compassionate and outstanding physician and teacher, and by the leadership you demonstrate to the Emory community. You are a wonderful ambassador of Emory and we are all proud to be your colleagues.”

The award will be presented on Wednesday, May 14th at 7:00pm at the annual reception for Emory Medical Alumni at Piedmont Estate and Gardens.

Dr. Whitesides, on behalf of the Department of Orthopaedics, we are proud to have served alongside you and to be a part of the program you helped to pioneer. Congratulations on your achievement!
